About Test:

Complete Blood Count: 

The Complete Blood Count is the most primary blood test. It is a recommended test for regular health check-ups. It provides information regarding the amount of hemoglobin in the blood, the total white blood cell count, the differential white blood cell count, the total red blood cell count, the red blood cell indices, and the total platelet count.

Erythrocyte Sedimentation rate:

The Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate test is useful and is indicated only for the diagnosis and monitoring of temporal arteritis and polymyalgia rheumatica. It is not sensitive or specific for other conditions.

Vitamin B12:

A vitamin necessary for methyl group transfers in thymidine formations, and hence, DNA synthesis. Deficiency can result in megaloblastic anemia.

Thyroid - Total T3, Total T4, TSH:

A thyroid profile blood test helps evaluate the functioning of the thyroid gland. The test is conducted to measure the level of thyroid hormones in the blood.

T3 and T4: The two hormones secreted by the thyroid, T3 and T4 help to maintain body temperature, heart rate, as well as how it uses energy we get from food.

TSH: TSH, produced by the pituitary gland which regulates the other endocrine glands within the body, helps to maintain stable levels of these hormones within the body.

Estimation of blood sugar (Fasting & Postprandial):

A blood glucose test measures the amount of a type of sugar, called glucose. Both tests are used in the diagnosis of DM, control of DM, diagnosis of hypoglycemia. Other carbohydrate metabolism disorders including gestational diabetes, neonatal hypoglycemia, idiopathic hypoglycemia, and pancreatic islet cell carcinoma.

Lipid Profile:

Lipid profile is a panel of blood tests that serves as an initial screening tool for abnormalities in lipids, such as cholesterol and triglycerides. It includes Total Cholesterol, Low-density Lipoprotein (LDL), Very low-density Lipoprotein (VLDL), High-density lipoprotein (HDL), Serum triglyceride, LDL/HDL ratio, and LDL/VLDL ratio.

Liver Profile:

The liver profile includes a battery of tests like Total Bilirubin, Direct and Indirect Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, GGT, ALP, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin. These are tests that indicate the well-being of the liver and its metabolic functions. They are indicative of various causes of injuries to the liver like raised GGT is indicative of an alcoholic mode of injury, low A/G ratio is seen in multiple myeloma, an autoimmune disease.

Renal Profile:

The Renal profile includes tests like Serum Creatinine, Blood Urea Nitrogen, Urea, Uric acid, Phosphorus, Sodium, Chloride, Potassium, Bicarbonate, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, and A/G ratio. These tests help for the early detection in kidney functions due to less blood supply, dehydration, cardiac failure, shock, or urinary obstruction.

Urine examination:

A significant amount of information can be obtained through the examination of urine. The most frequently performed chemical tests using reagent test strips, are Specific Gravity, pH, Protein, Glucose, Ketones, Blood, Leukocyte Esterase, Nitrite, Bilirubin, and Urobilinogen.

Vitamin D 3: 

Serum calcium is the sum of ionized calcium plus complex calcium and calcium bound to proteins (mostly albumin). The level of ionized calcium is regulated by parathyroid hormone and vitamin D. It helps in conducting a diagnosis and monitoring a wide range of disorders, including disorders of protein and vitamin D, diseases of the bone, kidney, parathyroid gland, or GI tract.

Glycosylated Hemoglobin:

This test measures average levels of blood sugar over the past three months, by looking at the amount of sugar attached to hemoglobin, which is an important part of the blood. It helps in the monitoring of diabetes. The advantage of the HBA1C test is that it can be performed without any test preparation. It does not require fasting or the consumption of a meal a few hours prior.
