What is Thrombocytopenia?

Thrombocytopenia is a condition in which the blood has lower level of the number of normal platelets in it.

What are platelets?

Platelets are small colourless disc-shaped cell fragment without a nucleus, found in large numbers in blood and involved in clotting. Normal ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 per micro litre of blood. Any change in the platelet count above or below can give rise to various health related ailments. If the platelet count falls below the normal range, then it is considered as low platelet count. Reasons for the same could be exposure to chemicals, anaemia, leukaemia etc.

                                                                                                                                                                             1         Papaya: Papaya is the best fruit that can increase the platelet count. Papaya leaves can also be consumed to increase the platelet count. Papaya leaves are highly recommended for dengue patients, as it helps to increase the platelet count.

Wheat Grass: If consumed daily by adding lemon juice to it, it increases
the red blood cells and haemoglobin level to a large extent

Pomegranate: Pomegranate is a rich source of Iron therefore it increases the platelet count and blood cells. Pomegranate is also rich in vitamins and minerals that increases resistance and fights foreign pathogenic invasions

 

4Pumpkin: Pumpkin has vitamin A content in it. Vitamin A helps the development of a platelet and regulates the proteins produced by the body cells

Gooseberry: Gooseberries boosts the immune system. Consuming 2-3 gooseberries per day on an empty stomach is highly beneficial in increasing the platelet count.

Beetroot:  Beetroot increases the platelet count. It is very helpful for
anaemicpatients. One bowl of beets should be taken at least twice a week.
